Job summary

St. Joseph's Villa is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician with strong electrical experience to join the Facilities team in Richmond, VA. The role involves maintaining buildings, systems, and grounds with a versatile skill set including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and structural repair.

Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, on-call hours; pay rate $24–$26/hour; full-time, non-exempt. Under the Facilities Manager and Director, you will perform repairs, operate building

Qualifications

• Requires basic technical knowledge of mechanical trades and tools.
• Ability to diagnose and repair recurring equipment issues.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs (masonry, woodwork, glass, sheetrock, plaster, furnishings) and painting of interior and exterior spaces.
• Maintain and repair utility systems, including electrical wiring, controls, HVAC, steam boilers, steam piping, and refrigeration systems.
• Operate building automation software for HVAC controls.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (lubrication, filter changes, calibration, coil and vent cleaning).
• Pick up and deliver donated furniture and large items; move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Ensure safe work practices, high ethical standards, and compliance with regulatory/accrediting requirements.
• Attend staff meetings, training programs, and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
