Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Ravenna, OH is seeking a maintenance technician to support a continuous run plant. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant equipment, with emphasis on motor drives, PLCs, and servo systems. Flexible shift availability includes 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The position requires 5–7 years of manufacturing maintenance experience and the ability to work safely in a unionized environment, with overtime on Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance in manufacturing.
• Proficient with European and US electrical schematics.
• Experience with servo motors, PLCs, and motor drives.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repair of all equipment.
• Maintains and repairs hand and power tools and ensures safe operation.
• Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment on a schedule; inspects belts, fluids, filters, greases bearings, seals.
• Operates a computer that controls and monitors mechanical equipment.
• Calibrates and repairs pneumatic and other systems on production equipment.
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists and records.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
• Team-oriented with safety first and ability to handle physical demands.
