Job summary

Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift in Sterling, IL. This role troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and improves electrical equipment and industrial control systems to support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

The position is on-site, 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30 AM-2:30 PM), with overtime as needed. Pay ranges from $20-$30/hour and is full-time, hourly.

Qualifications

• High school education.
• Typically 2+ years of experience in a technical role with solid electrical knowledge.
• Ability to perform work with occasional supervision.
• Experience using hand tools and interpreting electrical diagrams.
• Proficiency in equipment maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform calibration and NC tasks and maintain documentation.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to interpret work instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide moderately complex technical support for electrical and engineering challenges in the manufacturing environment, including support during construction activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, skilled repairs, installation, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
• Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve development problems, analyze test information, and resolve design-related issues.
• Create or modify diagrams and prepare engineering specifications for experimental electronics.
• Assist with the design, evaluation, and repair of electrical equipment while completing required documentation accurately.
• Perform equipment maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, calibration, and numerical control tasks to support equipment functionality and reliability.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
