Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift in Sterling, IL. You will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical equipment and industrial control systems that support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

This on-site role supports a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-2:30 PM, with overtime as needed. Competitive pay ranges from $20-$30/hour and opportunities to contribute to ongoing equipment reliability and process

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a technical role with solid working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience using hand tools and interpreting electrical diagrams.
• Ability to perform calibration and numerical control tasks and maintain accurate process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide moderately complex technical support for electrical and engineering challenges in the manufacturing environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, skilled repairs, installation, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
• Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve development problems, analyze test information, and resolve design-related issues.
• Create or modify diagrams and prepare engineering specifications for experimental electronics.
• Assist with the design, evaluation, and repair of electrical equipment while completing required documentation accurately.
• Perform equipment maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, calibration, and numerical control tasks to support equipment functionality and reliability.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.

Job Summary

Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift in Sterling, IL. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical equipment and industrial control systems that support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

• Location: Sterling, IL

• Work Arrangement: On-site

• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-2:30 PM

• Pay: $20-$30/hour

• Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

• Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do as a Maintenance Technician

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, skilled repairs, installation, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.

• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve development problems, analyze test information, and resolve design-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• High school education.

• Typically 2+ years of experience in a technical role with solid working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.

• Ability to perform assigned work with occasional supervision and oversight.

• Experience using hand tools and interpreting electrical diagrams.

• Proficiency in equipment maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to perform calibration and numerical control tasks and maintain accurate process documentation.

• Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Ability to interpret work instructions accurately.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves hands-on work in a manufacturing environment and requires:

• Lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

• Standing for extended periods.

• Pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent bending and stooping.

• Manual dexterity to handle small objects.

• Working in noisy environments.

• Working in confined spaces.
