Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift in Sterling, IL. You will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical equipment and industrial control systems to support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.

Position is on-site, full-time and hourly, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Typically 2+ years in a technical role with solid electrical knowledge.
• Ability to perform with minimal supervision and interpret electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Provide moderately complex technical support for electrical challenges in manufacturing.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on equipment.
• Assemble electrical systems and prototypes using hand tools and instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to solve development problems and analyze tests.
• Document engineering specs and maintain accurate records.

What You'll Do As a Maintenance Technician

• Provide moderately complex technical support for electrical and engineering challenges in the manufacturing environment, including support during construction activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, skilled repairs, installation, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
• Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve development problems, analyze test information, and resolve design-related issues.
• Create or modify diagrams and prepare engineering specifications for experimental electronics.
• Assist with the design, evaluation, and repair of electrical equipment while completing required documentation accurately.
• Perform equipment maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, calibration, and numerical control tasks to support equipment functionality and reliability.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school education.
• Typically 2+ years of experience in a technical role with solid working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform assigned work with occasional supervision and oversight.
• Experience using hand tools and interpreting electrical diagrams.
• Proficiency in equipment maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform calibration and numerical control tasks and maintain accurate process documentation.
• Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to interpret work instructions accurately.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
