Job summary

Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is seeking an Engineering Technician - CAD Design for its Sterling, IL facility. You will support design, testing, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment while helping improve automation, reliability, and production performance.

Responsibilities include performing routine tests, interpreting blueprints, and assisting with machine installations and prototypes. This is an on-site, first-shift role offering hourly pay and full-time status.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering or technical role.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, blueprints, and shop orders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and tools.
• Set up, adjust, and operate production machinery; perform routine tests and inspections.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and assist with modifications and repairs using basic hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on automation improvements and machine installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to determine setup and operating requirements.
• Assist with testing and prototyping for new products or processes.
• Maintain records of maintenance and performance data; report issues to engineering staff.
