Job summary

Epiroc Group is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Two Harbors, MN. This onsite, entry‑level role supports maintenance of CNC machines, robotic welding equipment, cranes, hoists, and automation systems to ensure uptime and safety.

You will diagnose, repair, and install electrical and mechanical equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and document activities in the CMMS. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or journeyman license preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of low‑voltage electrical maintenance experience including power distribution, motor control circuits, and PLCs.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and industrial safety standards preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting.
  • Hands‑on experience with tools, diagnostic instruments, and IT/documentation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance work orders to repair electrical and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using schematics and diagrams; handle alarms and control issues.
  • Install and maintain CNC machines, robotic welding systems, cranes, hoists, and other automation devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, and power distribution systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement for reliability and safety.
  • Handle facility maintenance including emergency repairs while following safety protocols.
  • Document maintenance activities and keep manuals up to date in CMMS.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles as needed and assist with general facility upkeep.
  • Ensure strict PPE usage and safety procedures at all times.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician based at our Two Harbors, MN facility, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our production and facility operations. This is an onsite, entry‑level position ideal for individuals seeking to develop and expand their technical skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation of a broad variety of electrical and mechanical systems including CNC machines, robotic welding equipment, cranes, hoists, and automation systems. You will respond swiftly to maintenance work orders and emergency facility issues, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance work orders to repair electrical and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using schematics and electrical diagrams; this includes handling alarms, faults, and control system issues.
  • Install and maintain advanced manufacturing and automation equipment such as CNC machines, robotic welding systems, cranes, hoists, and other industrial automation devices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, power distribution systems, and other critical equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Support ongoing preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and operational safety.
  • Handle facility‑related maintenance, including emergency repairs of alarms, leaks, and structural equipment issues while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and keep technical manuals up to date using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles as needed and contribute to general facility upkeep.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Compensation and Sign‑On Bonus

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $34.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications. A sign‑on bonus of $1,200 is available to eligible new hires, providing additional incentive to join our team.

Qualifications and Knowledge:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or journeyman electrician license preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with low‑voltage electrical maintenance, including power distribution, motor control circuits, AC/DC variable frequency drives, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial safety standards preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for effective troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Familiarity and hands‑on experience with a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and electronic test equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including the ability to document work and access digital maintenance platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively within maintenance teams, production personnel, and leadership.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by consistently following protocols and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Shows initiative by troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly and independently while knowing when to elevate.
  • Opens oneself to continuous learning and skill development to stay current with industry technologies and practices.
  • Works collaboratively, maintains open communication with colleagues across departments, and supports a team‑oriented environment.
