Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Manchester, IA facility. This role supports manufacturing with functioning equipment and collaborates with production to optimize uptime.

The candidate will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and participate in safety programs. This is an on-site, 1st shift position with a strong emphasis on 5S and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Understanding of industrial instrumentation and control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws related to general shop practice.
  • Basic mechanical ability to dismantle and reassemble simple assemblies.
  • Experience in a machine shop environment is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery and systems to reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize production disruptions.
  • Inspect and test machinery for proper operation and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify maintenance needs and assist with setup and testing.
  • Assist in installing new machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, parts usage, and repairs.
  • Work with supervisor to develop maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure safety regulations and PPE compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized 5S-compliant workspace.
  • Participate in training to stay current with industry standards.

The primary responsibility for this position is to support manufacturing employees and line management with functioning equipment.

Work Type (Onsite):

This position will be based on-site at our Manchester, IA facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship

Shift Timings:

1st Shift

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensureoptimalperformance and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize production disruptions.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment for proper operation and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify maintenance needs and assist with equipment setup, calibration, and testing.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs and documentation, including work orders, parts usage, and repairs performed.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to identify areas for improvement and assist in the development of maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current with industry standards and maintenance techniques.

The salary for this position is between $22.19 and$25.61annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.

Knowledge/Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Have an understanding of industrial instrumentation and control
  • Must be knowledgeable in OSHA laws as related to general shop practice
  • A basic mechanical ability to dismantle and reassemble simple assemblies
  • Experience in a machine shop environment is desired.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical breakdowns.
  • Must be able to consistently lift 40 lbs, work on lift platforms up to 30 ft high and ladders up to 35 ft
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems and equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
