Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor for the Rolling Mill in Petersburg, VA. The role leads safety-conscious, high-performance maintenance activities and aligns with WEM principles to achieve cost, quality, and production targets.

The ideal candidate will bring heavy mill electrical expertise, SAP/WEM familiarity, and strong leadership to train teams and drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Material Science plus 3 years applicable experience preferred OR 10 years’ electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods in lieu of 4 year degree.
• Strong electrical experience in manufacturing methods and techniques involving heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
• Experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, and supervisory/facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety prioritization, needs assessments, auditing, coaching of production/quality improvement programs and standards, training, 5S improvements.
• Develop and implement cost and environmental control goals, and new and current preventive maintenance and safety management routines.
• Ensure rolling mill electrical maintenance supports location goals and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Support maintenance area sponsors and others in training, development, auditing and execution of WEM processes.
• Coordinate efforts with functional groups within and across areas of the location.

Your Qualifications:

• Successful candidate will demonstrate a basic knowledge of WEM and SAP and the use of complex technical and engineering processes.
• Requires the ability to train and guide people.
• Possess solid presentation abilities combined with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• People management skills a must.
• Previous experience with cost control and managing costs to meet budgetary requirements is preferred.

Your Purpose:

You willprovideleadership guidance on establishing a productive, high performing, and safety conscious maintenance self directed working environment. The major role of this job is to focus on all aspects related to safety, environmental, production, cost, quality, and people management through the continuous application of Work Execution Management (WEM) for area of responsibility.You will ensure standardization of processes within the area of responsibility. You will manageto measurable goals including budget adherence and Work Execution Management targets.This position directly reports to the Rolling Mill Maintenance General Facilitator.

Your Work:

• Ensure rolling mill electrical maintenance efforts are supporting the operational goals of the location and identifyopportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production

• Coordinate efforts with the different functional groups both within area of responsibility and other areas of the location.
