Job summary

Gerdau is seeking a Senior Electrical Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled electrical maintenance team and drive reliability across critical plant systems. You will partner with plant leadership to improve equipment performance and develop your team.

The role offers a day shift leadership position with opportunities for impact in a highly automated steel mill, relocation assistance within the U.S., and a competitive compensation package including a bonus option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of leadership in industrial maintenance or similar heavy industry.
• Experience leading electrical maintenance or reliability teams; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve equipment reliability through predictive and preventive programs.

What You'll Do

As the Electrical Industrial Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a team responsible for electrical maintenance and reliability across plant systems. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance leadership to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and create a safe, high-performing work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop electrical maintenance personnel
• Improve equipment reliability through predictive and preventive maintenance programs
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical and mechanical equipment issues
• Drive safety, environmental, quality, and operational excellence initiatives
• Partner with operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant performance
• Coach and develop employees through training, mentoring, and hands-on leadership
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, and root cause failure analysis
• Monitor performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve business objectives
• Manage routine maintenance activities, work execution, and reliability improvements
• Participate in outage planning, major repairs, and capital improvement projects

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field ORHS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of job-related work experience in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, steel, metals, mining, pulp and paper, chemical processing, power generation, or related heavy industry
• Experience leading electrical maintenance or reliability teams
• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, controls, and power distribution equipment
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills
• Ability to build relationships across maintenance, operations, and engineering teams

Preferred

• Experience with overhead cranes, utilities, mobile equipment, substations, switchyards, HVAC systems, or industrial environmental systems
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms
• Experience in steel manufacturing or other heavy industrial environments

This is primarily a day-shift leadership position with off-hours support for critical maintenance activities, outages, and operational emergencies.
