Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Reliability Engineer to drive the Corporate Electrical Reliability Program across cement operations. You will guide maintenance teams, strengthen asset management standards and lead root cause analyses to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred), 10+ years in industrial electrical maintenance, and expertise in power systems, codes, and predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including leadership of reliability programs.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA and other electrical codes and best practices.
• Experience with substations, power distribution, high-voltage equipment, motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, MCCs and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Corporate Electrical Reliability Program to improve asset availability and reduce downtime.
• Provide electrical maintenance expertise to plant leadership, engineering teams and operation personnel.
• Develop and maintain corporate standards for electrical asset management and power system reliability.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the Corporate Electrical Reliability Program to improve asset availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimize lifecycle costs across cement operations.
• Provide electrical maintenance expertise, guidance, and support to plant leadership, engineering teams, and operational personnel.
• Support facilities in implementing Heidelberg Materials maintenance and reliability programs, standards, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain corporate standards for electrical asset management, power system reliability, predictive technologies, condition-based maintenance, and spare parts management.
• Lead root cause investigations for significant electrical failures and drive standardized corrective actions across operations.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for complex electrical system issues to minimize operational disruptions.
• Assist plants with critical spare parts strategy, inventory management, equipment repairs, and major equipment replacements through onsite and remote support.
• Develop and deliver technical and maintenance training programs to strengthen workforce capability and performance.
• Manage major electrical projects while identifying and implementing emerging technologies, digital solutions, and maintenance innovations that support business objectives.

What Are We Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including electrical reliability program leadership in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, and other applicable electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
• Experience with substations, power distribution systems, high-voltage equipment, motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and industrial control systems.
• Expertise in power system analysis, including relay coordination, load flow studies, harmonics mitigation, and power quality analysis.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety, high-voltage switching, arc flash protection, risk mitigation, and preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and the ability to travel throughout North America and work in industrial environments.

Work Environment

Corporate office and industrial environment. Extensive travel to plants, quarries, terminals, and other operational locations may be required. Work may involve exposure to industrial environments, varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment is required when visiting operational sites.
