Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, IA seeks an Electronics & Instrumentation Technician to support maintenance and reliability programs for plant electrical/instrumentation assets.

You will execute PM, PDM, RCM, and Operator Care, assist with installation, troubleshooting, and process improvements, and ensure safety and food safety compliance. The role requires self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work weekends/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree or two-year technical certificate, with relevant experience.
• 2 years of experience as a maintenance electrician with emphasis on manufacturing.
• Electrical license or electrical/instrumentation certification preferred.
• E&I troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical schematics and blueprints including equipment specific electronics diagrams preferred.
• Prior experience in SAP preferred.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent administrative and follow up skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate with electrical/instrumentation maintenance team members to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Champion Precision Maintenance techniques and ensure procedural compliance.
• Participate in maintenance training for personnel.
• Follow reliability procedures for critical spares and parts.
• Assist with electrical/instrumentation equipment installation, troubleshooting, startups, and process improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records and support RCA and reliability improvements.
• Promote Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure a safe workplace.
