Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks qualified Electrical & Instrumentation QC Inspector to ensure quality of craft and subcontractor installations meet project requirements as defined by plans, specs and codes.

You will inspect, report, and coordinate commissioning activities with MOPO, Shutdown, and Start-Up teams, ensuring safety and compliance on the construction site. This role emphasizes hands-on inspection and documentation across medium voltage, instrumentation and control systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Superintendent with degree, or 5+ years without.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred with 4+ years construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Assures on-site work meets applicable codes and specifications.
• Safely observe and prepare inspection reports with photos and illustrations.
• Performs task assignments for MOPO, Shutdown, Commissioning and Start-Up Teams.
• Audits of site craft personnel and subcontractor QC programs; reviews documentation for certification of construction equipment and testing equipment.
• Reviews turnover packages prior to Commissioning startup handoff.
• Monitors installations related to Medium Voltage Electrical, Process Control Instrumentation, SCADA and MODCOM.
• Inspects conduit support racks, installation, control piping, tubing, wiring, instruments, valves, SCADA and communication systems.
• Conducts visual and analytical inspection of equipment to verify proper operation; coordinates punch list walkdowns.
