Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks an entry-level Electrical Engineer to assist in routine design of electrical and instrumentation tasks under close supervision. You’ll develop installation details, wiring diagrams, and layouts while aligning with NEC and company drafting standards.

You will contribute to conceptual layouts, cost studies, and material take-offs, and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of NEC (current edition).
• Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Proficient in CAD software: AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good presentation and team collaboration skills.
• Virtual team skills and cross-divisional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine design of less complex electrical/instrumentation engineering tasks under supervision.
• Assist in design of larger, more complex electrical projects.
• Produce installation details, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Create estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Check vendor and discipline drawings for electrical/instrumentation input.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline design leaders to ensure timely information flow.
