Job summary

City of Eugene is seeking an Oregon-certified Electrical Inspector to join the Building Permit Services team. The EI conducts inspections and plan reviews for commercial, industrial, and residential installations to ensure compliance with the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code and communicates field corrections.

Candidates must hold current Oregon inspector Certification and Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector, with a General Journeyman Electrician license preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon inspector certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Current Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• General Journeyman Electrician license; license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and plan reviews in one code specialty.
• Write field correction memos or letters to customers with findings.
• Explain remedial work and enforce state/local regulations as assigned.
• Coordinate inspections with other staff and respond to inquiries.
