Job summary

The City of Eugene is seeking an Electrical Inspector to perform onsite inspections and plan reviews, interpreting the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code and preparing reports for customers. You will work under supervision, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m., based in Eugene, OR. The role requires Oregon certifications (OIC and EI) or the ability to obtain within one year, a General Journeyman Electrician license, and a focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon inspector Certification (OIC) or ability to obtain within 1 year of the date hired is required
• Current Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) or ability to obtain within 1 year of the date hired is required
• General Journeyman Electrician license is required; Electrical Supervisor license preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Conducts field inspections and plans review in one code specialty.
• Interprets building electrical plans and specifications.
• Writes field correction memos or letters to customers and documents violations.
