Job summary

Tech Edge Networks is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer for aerospace applications in El Segundo, CA. This hands-on role covers architecture, schematic capture, PCB design, board bring‑up and qualification for mission‑critical spacecraft systems.

You will own circuit-card hardware through the full development lifecycle and work closely with mechanical, embedded software, and test teams to deliver flight‑ready electronics that meet stringent reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design experience.
• Hands-on PCB/card design experience with schematic capture and Altium Designer.
• Experience taking hardware through bring-up, testing, and validation.
• Experience with aerospace/high‑reliability electronics.
• Ability to work onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-electronics hardware.
• Develop schematics, PCB designs, circuit cards, and hardware interfaces.
• Own board designs from concept through prototype, bring-up, debug, validation, and release.
• Develop electronics supporting embedded systems, sensors, actuators, and controllers.
• Perform component selection and detailed circuit-level design.
• Support PCB layout and review activities.
• Hands-on lab troubleshooting and hardware debugging.
• Support signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, thermal, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Participate in environmental and qualification testing.
• Develop engineering drawings, BOMs, and design specs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, embedded software, manufacturing, systems, and test teams.
• Support flight-intent and high-reliability aerospace hardware.

About the Opportunity

Tech Edge Networks is recruiting on behalf of a confidential aerospace and space technology company for a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer in El Segundo, CA.

This is a hands‑on electrical hardware development role supporting advanced spacecraft and mission‑critical aerospace systems. The engineer will own circuit‑card hardware throughout the full development lifecycle — from architecture and schematic capture through PCB development, board bring‑up, debugging, testing, qualification, and release.

What You’ll Do

• Design analog, digital, mixed‑signal, and power‑electronics hardware
• Develop electrical schematics, PCB designs, circuit cards, and hardware interfaces

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
• Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design
• Hands‑on experience designing PCBs and circuit‑card assemblies
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer
• Experience taking hardware through board bring‑up, debugging, testing, and validation
• Strong understanding of electrical component selection and board‑level design
• Hands‑on laboratory experience using standard electrical test equipment
• Experience developing aerospace, defense, spacecraft, avionics, or other high‑reliability electronic hardware
• Ability to work onsite in El Segundo, CA

Compensation

Base Salary: $150,000–$210,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional compensation may include equity‑based compensation and a performance‑based bonus structure.

Candidates must meet applicable U.S. export‑control requirements and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance if required for the program.
