Job summary

The Vertex Companies, LLC seeks an Electrical Forensic Engineer to investigate failures and incidents across facilities. You will conduct field inspections, analyze evidence, perform engineering evaluations, and prepare technical reports for clients, attorneys, and carriers.

Collaborative team environment, rigorous analytical work, and opportunities to support litigation with exhibits and expert analyses, with travel to loss sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or 5 years of related work experience and no degree.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate electrical system failures, fires, explosions, and equipment damage.
• Conduct field inspections to document conditions and collect evidence.
• Analyze engineering data and documentation to determine cause and origin of failures.
• Develop engineering opinions supported by standards and best practices.
• Prepare clear technical reports and assist with litigation support as needed.
