Job summary

The Industrial Company (TIC) seeks a Lead Construction Foreman in Abilene, TX to lead daily crew activities, coordinate materials and equipment, and ensure work is performed on schedule and to safety standards. You will supervise craft workers, communicate plans and safety demands, and maintain accurate job records.

Ideal candidates have proven leadership in construction, strong communication, and the ability to train crews on proper safety and operational procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Ability to supervise craft workers under his/her supervision.
• Ability to plan tasks and train safety practices, policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, material control and unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost systems.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions to craft workers.
• Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials to promote safe, efficient and timely construction.
• Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
• Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets and daily management reports.
• May assist in developing a weekly schedule and sequencing of activities for assigned crew.
• Responsible for timely completion of work within estimated costs while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Responsible for crew safety and ensure all operations follow safety rules.
• Develop and maintain crew attitude by conducting toolbox meetings and communicating safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules to leadmen and crews.
• Monitor compliance by all employees with company policies.
