Ground-Up & Dry Utility Site Work | Southern California | $120K-$150K + Company-Paid Housing

Arena Staffing has partnered with a confidential, growth-focused commercial electrical contractor in Southern California that is hiring an Electrical Foreman / General Foreman to lead field execution on a major ground-up commercial electrical project.

This is a senior field leadership opportunity for someone with strong ground-up, underground, and dry utility electrical experience who knows how to run crews, coordinate with utilities and GCs, manage manpower and production, and take ownership of a significant electrical scope in the field.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of commercial electrical field experience, Foreman or General Foreman leadership experience, and hands-on experience with underground electrical infrastructure, utility coordination, civil/site plans, and survey stakes.

The initial project assignment will be approximately 18 months in Bakersfield with company-paid housing, followed by the opportunity to return to Orange County and continue working on future projects long term. Open to candidate in Bakersfield open to moving to Orange County or OC moving to Bakerfield and then back to Irvine on the project is completed.

  • Strong compensation: $120K-$150K base depending on experience, plus company-paid housing during the Bakersfield assignment, benefits, and additional field support.

What you will own
  • Lead day-to-day electrical field operations on a major ground-up commercial project.
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical crews, journeymen, apprentices, foremen, and field personnel.
  • Manage manpower, daily production, materials, equipment, scheduling, safety, and field logistics.
  • Lead underground and dry utility site work including conduit pathways, duct banks, vaults, pull boxes, handholes, and underground structures.
  • Coordinate installation and placement of underground electrical structures using electrical, utility, and civil/site plans.
  • Read and interpret survey stakes for elevations, underground layout, utility routing, and structure placement.
  • Coordinate directly with utility companies regarding service feeds, utility requirements, inspections, schedules, field conflicts, and energization.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, civil plans, utility plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with general contractors, superintendents, civil contractors, surveyors, inspectors, vendors, utilities, and internal project leadership.
  • Track field productivity, labor hours, installation quality, schedule performance, and project progress.
  • Identify field issues early and resolve problems before they impact schedule, cost, inspections, quality, or energization.
  • Support look-ahead schedules, site walks, inspections, punch walks, change-order documentation, and closeout.
  • Maintain strong safety and quality standards across the project.
  • Mentor field personnel while maintaining accountability, productivity, and strong crew morale.
Must-Have Requirements
  • 10+ years of commercial or industrial electrical field experience.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Foreman, General Foreman, Lead Foreman, or similar field leader.
  • Strong ground-up commercial electrical construction experience.
  • Experience running or helping lead significant commercial electrical projects.
  • Hands-on dry utility and underground electrical infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with duct banks, conduit pathways, vaults, pull boxes, handholes, underground structures, and site electrical work.
  • Direct experience coordinating with utility companies around service, inspections, schedules, requirements, conflicts, and energization.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, utility plans, and civil/site plans.
  • Ability to read and understand surveying stakes, including elevations, underground layout, utility routing, and structure placement.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems including conduit, wire, panels, switchgear, lighting, controls, and power distribution.
  • Experience managing crews, manpower, production, materials, equipment, safety, quality, and jobsite coordination.
  • Strong communication skills working with GCs, superintendents, civil contractors, inspectors, utilities, vendors, PMs, and field crews.
  • Willing and able to work in Bakersfield for approximately 18 months with company-paid housing.
  • Willing to return to Orange County following the project for a long-term opportunity.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
  • California Journeyman-level electrical background or state electrical certification.
  • General Foreman experience on large commercial, industrial, warehouse, education, healthcare, retail, or mixed-use projects.
  • Experience leading electrical scopes in the $20M-$30M range or larger.
  • Strong site-power and underground distribution experience.li>
  • Experience coordinating underground work directly with civil contractors and surveyors.
  • Experience with switchgear, distribution systems, lighting controls, and Title 24-related work.
  • Experience with change orders, manpower tracking, production tracking, field reporting, and look-ahead schedules.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, or similar construction field software.
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $120,000-$150,000 depending on experience.
  • Company-Paid Housing: Provided during the approximately 18-month Bakersfield assignment.
