An established commercial electrical contractor is looking to add an experienced Electrical Foreman to its field leadership team. This position will be responsible for taking ownership of day-to-day site operations, directing electrical crews, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
The role would suit a commercially experienced electrician who has progressed into a Foreman position and is confident managing people, production, quality, and site coordination.
Position Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of assigned electrical work.
- Supervise and coordinate crews of electricians, apprentices, and journeymen.
- Allocate manpower and materials according to project priorities.
- Provide direction to the field team and maintain productivity throughout the project.
- Review project drawings and specifications before and during installation.
- Coordinate electrical activities with other trades and project personnel.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to maintain project schedules.
- Identify potential installation conflicts and develop practical solutions in the field.
- Monitor progress against planned production and make adjustments where necessary.
- Inspect completed work to maintain quality and ensure installations meet project requirements.
- Ensure installations comply with NEC requirements and applicable regulations.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices across the crew.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical electrical issues.
- Participate in coordination and progress meetings as required.
- Communicate project updates, manpower requirements, material needs, and field concerns to management.
- Take ownership of the performance and development of the electrical crew.
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial electrical construction experience.
- At least 2 years of experience leading electrical crews as a Foreman.
- Experience supervising a team of electricians and apprentices.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations and NEC requirements.
- Comfortable interpreting electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and sequencing.
- Ability to plan daily and weekly work activities.
- Proven ability to manage manpower and maintain productivity.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Strong commitment to quality and safety.
- Comfortable working on complex or high-value commercial projects.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
