Electrical Foreman

Job Responsibilities of a Foreman

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, controls, equipment, and fixtures.
2. Plan layout and installation according to job specifications.
3. Prepare sketches and follow blueprints for wiring and equipment placement.
4. Place conduit, including bending pipe, pulling wire or cable, and completing circuits.
5. Install cable/wiring trays, trapezes, and similar devices.
6. Make connections of wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
7. Test electrical systems and circuits using appropriate equipment.
8. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards and defects.
9. Use electrician’s hand tools and power tools skillfully.
10. Adhere to Electrical Code and safety policies.
11. Direct electricians and train helpers and apprentices.
12. Coordinate with Project Manager according to scope of work.

Minimum Experience Requirements of a Foreman

10+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience working with an electrical contractor/subcontractor in a commercial or industrial construction environment, plus at least 2+ years supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements and/or Expectations of a Foreman

• High School diploma or GED.
• Pass a mandatory drug screen.
• Satisfactory performance on skills and capabilities assessment.
• Provide two (2) professional references.
• Own and provide basic personal tools of the trade.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
