Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform electrical apparatus work at customer facilities in Roseville, MN. The role includes testing, preventative maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs to electrical equipment.

You will read schematics and manuals to troubleshoot issues, troubleshoot and repair substation components, and support installation and maintenance tasks. Occasional travel and overtime are possible; a valid driver’s license is required, and safety

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; further degrees preferred.
Experience in electrical substation testing/maintenance preferred but not required.
Zero to three years of relevant experience; entry-level role.
Willingness to learn and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

Assist in mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
Read manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in a substation.
Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
Participate in safety meetings and training.
