Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to test, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and commission electrical power equipment at customer facilities.

You will perform complex electrical and mechanical tasks to keep power systems safe, reliable, and compliant, with opportunities to lead field projects and support emergency outages. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 8+ years in electrical testing or substation work, and NETA certification or ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, military experience, or related technical training preferred.
• Eight or more years of experience in electrical testing, maintenance, commissioning, or substation work.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and testing procedures.
• NETA certification or ability to obtain NETA Level III or IV certification.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, and technical reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, commission, upgrade, and repair electrical power equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in substations.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Complete service reports, testing documentation, and customer deliverables.
• Support emergency response work and customer outage situations as needed.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, and work areas in good condition.
