Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Field Engineer to support utility-scale solar, BESS, and related energy projects across the United States. The role links engineering, construction, quality, and project management to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project execution.

The position is site-based with daily per diem and rotations every 3–4 weeks; compensation ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, engineering, or field operations, preferably in electrical or energy projects.
• Associate's degree or higher in a related technical field.
• Experience creating reports and maintaining project documentation.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with construction teams, engineering partners, subcontractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and resolve technical field issues.
• Partner with Quality, Construction, and Engineering teams to support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and verify work is executed per drawings and specs.
• Manage engineering and construction documentation, including redlines, as-builts, field reports, inspection records, and turnover packages.
• Generate, track, and facilitate RFIs between project stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and minimize schedule impacts.
• Review material submittals, engineering packages, and construction documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Support field verification and installation activities associated with electrical systems and infrastructure, coordinating between engineering and construction teams.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating construction risks through proactive coordination and communication.
• Maintain visibility into subcontractors and self-perform scope execution to drive accountability for quality and safety.
