W3Global partners with a premier AEC firm to recruit an experienced Electrical Field Engineer. You will provide crucial field engineering support through design review, construction administration, installation oversight, testing, commissioning, and closeout on commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, and mission-critical projects.

The role emphasizes a 40-hour workweek with no overtime, frequent coordination with owners, architects, and contractors, and strong capabilities in field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, MEP consulting, construction administration, commissioning, or related field engineering roles.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required. LEED AP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive field engineering support during construction, startup, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify installation quality, progress, and compliance with contract documents, codes, and specifications.
  • Monitor the installation of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, life safety, fire alarm, security, telecommunications, and BAS.
  • Review and process contractor shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify field conflicts early and coordinate resolutions with owners, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in startup and commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT.
  • Track deficiencies, manage punch list items, and verify equipment operation and system performance.

We are partnering with a premier, award-winning AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) firm to find an experienced Electrical Field Engineer. In this dynamic role, you will provide critical field engineering expertise throughout all phases of project execution-including design review, construction administration, installation oversight, testing, commissioning, and project closeout-for commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects. Job Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive field engineering support during the construction, startup, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify installation quality, construction progress, and strict compliance with contract documents, codes, and specifications.
  • Monitor the installation of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, life safety, fire alarm, security, telecommunications, and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Review and process contractor shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify field conflicts early and coordinate effective resolutions with owners, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Participate in startup and commissioning activities, including witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Track deficiencies, manage punch list items, and verify that equipment operation and system performance meet the original design intent.
  • Perform engineering evaluations, participate in constructability reviews, and support electrical load analyses and value engineering efforts.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients, designers, contractors, and internal project teams, maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications And Certifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, MEP consulting, construction administration, commissioning, or related field engineering roles. Experience with design-build and design-assist project delivery is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required. LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Deep working knowledge of electrical equipment installation, power distribution, emergency generators, UPS systems, and lighting controls. Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and BIM/Revit models.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, IBC, IECC, IEEE standards, NETA testing standards, and OSHA/arc flash safety requirements.
  • Requirements: A valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally to project sites.
