Job summary

You’ll review drawings, specs, and NEC codes to determine material, labor, and equipment needs, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver competitive bids. This full-time role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of electrical/construction estimating experience, preferably multi-family projects.
• Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and addenda for multi-family residential projects.
• Prepare detailed take-offs of electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage.
• Develop complete and accurate cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Create and manage bid proposals and ensure timely submission to general contractors or clients.
• Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and scope coverage.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to develop value engineering options.
• Maintain historical cost data and vendor pricing for future estimates.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding scope and clarifications.
