Job summary

PTS Advance is seeking an Estimator for its preconstruction team in Houston, focused on electrical estimating for data center projects. The role involves quantity takeoffs, labor productivity analysis, and cost development to support large-scale construction efforts onsite.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years in estimating or project controls within electrical or mission-critical environments, with strong detail orientation and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5+ years estimating, project controls, or construction experience.
• Experience estimating large-scale electrical construction projects.
• Prior data center construction experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and reading electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical quantity takeoffs from drawings, single-line diagrams, and specs for complex data center projects.
• Develop takeoffs across electrical systems including medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, cable tray, conduit, and related equipment.
• Research and apply labor productivity standards to develop accurate installation labor estimates.
• Review RFP packages, drawings, specifications, and other bid documents to identify scope, exclusions, clarifications, and risks.
• Assist senior estimating and preconstruction professionals with developing and maintaining templates and tools.
• Coordinate with scheduling, procurement, engineering, project management, and field teams throughout the estimating process.
• Participate in project pursuits, bid reviews, scope reviews, and preconstruction meetings.
