Job summary

Knight Electric, Inc. in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our onsite team. The role centers on retail/commercial projects, including new construction and remodels, with travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities include takeoffs with Accubid Anywhere, plan review, vendor/client coordination, and delivering accurate competitive estimates while mentoring junior estimators. This full-time role includes benefits and a bonus program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating commercial electrical projects.
• Excellent communication with customers, vendors, subcontractors, GC and owners.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Accubid software (Anywhere training available).
• Knowledge of commercial electrical field and construction methods.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; comfortable with takeoff programs.
• Knowledge of national/state/local codes.
• Produce accurate, timely and competitive estimates.

Responsibilities

• Perform takeoffs using Accubid Anywhere.
• Review bids and project docs to identify estimate needs.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Meet deadlines with strong time management.
• Prepare detailed proposals and post-bid client engagement.
• Attend pre-bid or scope meetings to understand complete scope.
• Issue bid info to subs and vendors for quotations.
• Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors on costs.
• Review BOMs and subs’ scope letters for accuracy.
• Complete change order estimates for awarded projects.
• Collaborate with estimators and other departments.
• Present bid status at estimating/sales meetings.
• Lead handoffs to field ops post-bid through closeout.
• Suggest value engineering ideas to save costs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Junior Estimators.
