Job summary

Taco, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead the design and development of all electrical projects, transforming departmental goals into actionable plans to support corporate research and product development.

The role requires strategic budgeting, policy creation, and strong cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing. Hybrid work and leadership of a ~6-person team are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years in an R&D engineering role developing platform products.
• 1–3 years of leading teams and managing projects.
• Strong circuit layout and PCB design experience.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams and Project).
• Experience with EMC/EMI design and circuit simulation.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and development of all electrical engineering projects (new and lifecycle).
• Oversee internal and external electrical development resources for product development.
• Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan feasibility.
• Ensure on-time and on-budget completion of projects.
• Develop and maintain the annual department budget.
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering.
• Establish and maintain cross-functional relationships with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Quality, Legal, Financial and Purchasing.
• Coordinate agency approvals and test standards for identified markets.
• Assist Legal with IP management, including patent filings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
