CITGO Petroleum Corporation invites applications for a paid 12-week Electrical Engineer intern position. On-site at Lemont, IL or Downers Grove, IL, you will assist with engineering tasks, document updates, and reliability projects under a senior engineer's guidance.

The role includes a final presentation summarizing internship accomplishments. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Electrical Engineering bachelor's program, sophomores, with a 3.0+ GPA and 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Must be enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree program
• Must be at least a sophomore status in college (completion of freshman year)
• Must have overall GPA of 3.0 or above
• Availability to work forty (40) hours per week for full 12 week program
• Must have valid driver's license
• Candidate must posess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
• TWIC Eligibility: Maritime Transportation Security Act requires TWIC for unescorted access to facility. See TSA link for criteria.

Responsibilities

• Generate discipline-related work scopes and complete project documentation updates/review.
• Familiarize with CITGO Engineering practices by editing the engineering training manual and apply as necessary to perform assigned work tasks.
• Assist with the update/creation of equipment reliability and integrity plans.
• Review existing engineering documentation for completeness and consistency with current policies and procedures, including drawings and technical data.
• Complete update to documentation as necessary or assigned.
• Consult with Senior Project Engineers and Managers in the group, and complete site visits in support of ongoing engineering efforts.
• Site visits may include witnessing site activities and scoping/verification for projects.
• Consult with Managers and Senior Project Engineers in the group, and complete site visits in support of ongoing engineering efforts.

• Complete end of internship summary and presentation.
