Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Electrical Intern to join our Buildings group in New York. You will work with engineers on multiple projects for public and private sector clients, performing tasks to develop electrical system designs under supervision.

You will assist with lighting, power distribution, energy efficiency, and fire alarm design in commercial and institutional facilities, using Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel. This hands-on role builds real world skills in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a project setting.
• Ability to learn CAD software and support electrical design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, calculations, specs, schedules, and details using Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel.
• Participate in the Summer Intern Design Project with other building design interns.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and guidelines.
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world problems.
• Support team operations and promote health and safety culture.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline professionals on assigned projects.
