Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Chicago, IL. The role supports standard engineering tasks, assists lead engineers, and participates in market-specific project duties across Aviation, Power, Global Facilities, and Transmission & Distribution groups.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred), maintain a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend fixes.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
