Job summary

Novelis in Davenport, IA offers a 12-week on-site Electrical Engineering internship for Summer 2027. The intern will work under the Engineering Manager, gaining hands-on experience with PLCs, programmable drives, and networking.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in a 4-year university, in Sophomore to Senior year, with strong communication skills and US work authorization; Electrical Engineering majors preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must obtain the classification Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Preferred students majoring in Electrical Engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks, promoting open communication with peers and providing updates to direct management.
• Assist in drafting and submitting budget proposals, recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
• Assist maintenance and engineering in diagnosing equipment problems and recommend methods to prevent reoccurrence of these issues to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
• Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in making minor adaptations and modifications to electrical equipment
