IMEG is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in New York, NY for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in the analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems in buildings, coordinating with architects, structural, and MEP teams.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least 2 years toward a BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Proficient with CAD/BIM software
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of projects related to electrical systems according to code and IMEG standards.
  • Support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
  • Research commercially available equipment for project use.
  • Maintain client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
  • Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
