Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group, a distinguished independent full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) firm, offers a co-op/intern Electrical Engineer role. You will work with engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and deliverables for client design projects.

You will interface with other disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages and will develop CAD drawings while learning power system concepts in a consulting setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
• Ability to work within diverse teams with Nexus, clients, and others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Seeks feedback to improve performance.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software preferred.
• Familiarity with Power System Modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity under supervision; may include lighting distribution, conduit/cable tray fills, voltage drop, feeder sizing.
• Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic/Interconnection Diagrams, Conduit/Cable Schedules, Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Controls, Raceway.
• Support development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations.
• Assist experienced Electrical Engineers with their activities as requested.
