Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Electrical Engineer Co-op or Intern to assist with drawings, calculations, and deliverables for client design projects. You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver cohesive packages.

You will perform limited calculations, develop diagrams, support power system studies, and learn industry codes; supervision provided. Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering and are eager to learn drafting tools.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
• Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
• Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
• Seeks feedback to improve performance
• Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software preferred
• Familiarity with Power System Modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower) is desirable

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include lighting distribution, conduit/cable tray fills, voltage drop, feeder sizing, etc.
• Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic/Interconnection Diagrams, Conduit/Cable Schedules, Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Controls, Raceway, etc.
• Support the development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations efforts
• Assist experienced Electrical Engineers with their activities as requested
