Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group offers an Electrical Engineer Co-op/Internship in Cleveland, OH to work with a team of Electrical Engineers on drawings, calculations, and deliverables for client design projects.

You will interface with teammates across disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages and gain exposure to electrical distribution concepts, protective schemes, and industry codes. The role offers a collaborative environment and hands-on learning opportunities.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must.
Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
Seeks feedback to improve performance.
Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software preferred.
Familiarity with Power System Modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower) is desirable.

Responsibilities

Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include lighting distribution, conduit/cable tray fills, voltage drop, feeder sizing, etc.
Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic/Interconnection Diagrams, Conduit/Cable Schedules, Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Controls, Raceway, etc.
Support the development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations efforts
Assist experienced Electrical Engineers with their activities as requested
