Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer based in California (prefer Sacramento) to design electrical power systems for water and wastewater facilities, perform load calculations, one-line diagrams, and coordinate with utility providers.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with multi-discipline teams across offices, ensure NEC/NFPA 820 compliance, and support construction through submittals and field reviews. The role offers growth and a hybrid work policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• California PE license or ability to reciprocate required.
• 8-10 years in electrical engineering for water/wastewater or similar industrials.
• Proficiency with Word & Excel; lighting software proficiency.
• Experience with NEC and NFPA 820; familiarity with IEEE color book.
• Ability to mentor staff and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare contract documents, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Develop One-Line Diagrams, Load Calculations, and Coordination studies.
• Coordinate with Electric Utility for new services as needed.
• Perform field visits, site investigations, and construction support.
• Mentor junior staff and work with multi-discipline teams.
