Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer in California (Sacramento preferred) to design electrical power systems for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and greenfield projects with limited supervision.

You will collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, designers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, on-time results while adhering to budgets. The role offers growth opportunities and exposure to multiple delivery methods and national/global projects.

Responsibilities

• Designing electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities
• Preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects
• Electrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteries
• Engaging several different assignments simultaneously
• Developing basis of design reports, one-line diagrams, motor control diagrams, panel schedules, conduit routing, load calculations, and voltage drop calculations
• Coordinating with Electric Utility Company for new services as needed
• Performing field visits and site investigations for public and private clients
• Providing services during construction including submittal reviews, RFI responses, change orders, and record drawings
• Mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multi-discipline teams
