Job description

Join AZAD as an Electrical Engineer and provide professional support and assistance to the Engineering Support organization, part of the broader Substation Engineering department. This position will assist in producing indoor and outdoor electrical power substation and facility design drawings, material requests, and other documents required for the design of assigned projects. This position may be assigned to collaborate and provide support for internal and external Transmission Engineering departments throughout the agency as assigned.

This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid in Vancouver, WA with onsite 3 days weekly.

The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $22.81 - $26.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field is preferred.

6 months of electrical engineering work experience in a technical/engineering environment is required with or without an applicable degree.

Demonstrated understanding of electrical power substation including protection schemes, control systems, and outdoor equipment.

6 months of directly related experience as an Electrical Technician or CAD support.

Experience with CAD and drawing management software.

Experience working with data storage, database management, and records maintenance.
Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
First Aid/AED/CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start. Worker/Employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.

Preferred:

Experience working with electrical high voltage substation indoor and outdoor design and drafting in the utility industry.

Experience with MicroStation CAD software

Experience with ProjectWise software.
