Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer to lead hardware efforts across the lifecycle of circuit card assemblies powering missiles, sensors, and subsystems. You will collaborate with production, program, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, on-time hardware.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and extensive circuit card design experience across digital, power, analog, and FPGA/SoC domains, plus a track record of leading hardware engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • Experience leading hardware IPTs and mentoring design engineers.
  • Experience interpreting complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier technical activities for a subsystem.
  • Oversee full product life cycle from design to qualification.
  • Coordinate audits and Production Readiness events.
  • Report risks to Program Manager and Chief Engineer; liaise to resolve supplier issues.
  • Partner with government counterparts as Lockheed Martin’s subsystem representative.

Standard Job Description

You will be the Circuit Design Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed MartinMissiles and FireControl (MFC). Our team designs, develops and fields precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, delivering high reliability circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that power missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Circuit Design Engineer you will ensure technical excellence across your assigned tasks, drive those tasks to successful completion, and keep stakeholders fully informed of progress and issues. You’ll work closely with production, program, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, on-schedule hardware.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead supplier technical activities for a subsystem.
  • Oversee full product life cycle: design development, milestone reviews, SDRL concurrence, Functional Acceptance Test, Design Verification Test (DVT), and environmental qualification (MIL STD 810, MIL STD 464).
  • Coordinate Functional & Physical Configuration Audits and Production Readiness events.
  • Report risks/concerns to Program Manager and Chief Engineer; act as liaison to resolve supplier issues.
  • Partner with government counterparts as Lockheed Martin’s subsystem representative.
  • Drive innovative, affordable, schedule focused solutions while upholding mission and safety requirements.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. An active clearance is required to start.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university
  • Extensive experience with circuit card design, integration, and test across multiple domains (digital, power, analog, FPGA/SoC)
  • Experience with developing and refining system requirements, including performance, interface, and environmental requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead IPT hardware engineering efforts and mentoring design engineers
  • Experience interpreting complex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies
Desired Skills
  • Experience in Electro-Mechanical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with missile system and sensor architectures
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with both internal and external customers
  • Familiarity with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasking, status reporting, and Earned Value Management
  • Experience with FPGA, SoC, and SoM devices from Xilinx/AMD, Intel/Altera, Microsemi/Actel, or equivalent
  • Experience with MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture) and WOSA (Weapon Open Systems Architecture)
  • Experience with CAMEO or equivalent requirements management tools
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical design interfaces and test environments (MIL-STD-810)
  • Previous LM/MFC experience
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
