Job summary

1X is building home robots that can perform chores and assist families. The Prototyping team develops physical systems for NEO, turning electrical designs into buildable hardware and validating prototypes through iterative testing.

As an Electrical Engineer on the prototyping team, you will bridge design and fabrication, turning concepts into real hardware, debugging issues, and contributing to the path toward reliable, scalable assemblies within a safety-focused home environment.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in electrical engineering or related hands-on hardware development role.
• Experience developing and debugging electrical prototypes, harnesses, or cable assemblies.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
• Experience using measurement tools to test continuity and diagnose electrical faults.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical prototypes, wire harnesses, and cable assembly designs for testing and iteration.
• Translate schematics and wiring diagrams into build documentation and guide technicians.
• Plan and run continuity and fault-isolation testing before hardware moves downstream.
• Debug issues on prototypes and the robot and update designs accordingly.
• Improve recurring builds through better documentation, fixturing, and manufacturability considerations.
• Partner across engineering and fabrication to move from early prototypes toward reliable assemblies.
