Job summary

BOSS Snowplow, located in Iron Mountain, Michigan, a division of The Toro Company, seeks an electrical/mechanical design engineer to drive development of electrical components for new and revised products. You will analyze data, coordinate cross-functional teams, and craft design plans with budgets and schedules to meet customer requirements.

The role requires a professional engineering license or a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, with EIT desirable.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering license, or BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Successful completion of EIT requirements is desirable.
• Ability to create and analyze portions of product design with direction and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate development of electrical components and subsystems.
• Create designs that satisfy product requirements and resolve design problems.
• Perform engineering analysis to predict behavior using analytical methods or electronic simulations.
• Develop product design plans including budgets and schedules; execute to plan.
• Collaborate with other engineers, marketing, and drafting teams on proposed designs.
• May lead work of designers, drafters, and contract personnel.
• Work with vendors to finalize designs and implementations for hardware applications.
• Develop specifications and working agreements with vendors and ensure they meet design requirements.
• Ensure designs meet customer safety and Toro standards; coordinate with product development teams.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies and manufacturing processes affecting design.
