Senior Electrical Engineers at NYPA provide expert technical leadership that advances New York's cleanenergy mission and strengthens grid reliability across the state. These professionals oversee complex electrical and control system design, serve as technical authorities for generation, transmission, and substation assets, and provide Professional Engineering (PE) oversight for critical deliverables. Senior Engineers help shape system standards, perform rootcause analyses, lead reliability and compliance initiatives, and mentor developing engineering talent.
Candidates in this pool may support highimpact projects such as major transmission line expansions, renewable generation interconnections, energy storage deployments, and modernization of statewide grid infrastructure - all essential to NYPA's commitment to clean, affordable, and resilient energy for New Yorkers.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $146,000 - $182,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Disclaimer: NYPA accepts a standard 12-month F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa for certain roles. However, please be advised that NYPA is not an E-Verify employer, and as such, we are ineligible to support the F-1 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) OPT extension (24-month add-on).
