Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in the listed office location. The role involves designing electrical systems for power generation facilities and other heavy industrial projects, with field engineering on construction sites and collaboration with project teams.

The candidate will apply engineering standards, adapt designs to client requirements, and support project execution from concept through construction across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• FE exam completed or in progress; 3 years electrical engineering experience preferred.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 2D/3D rendering tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings.
• Design electrical components for project needs and requirements set by project managers.
• Apply knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
• Research and compile project-related data for managers.
• Utilize design software tools for engineering calculations and plant designs.
• Prepare client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations to support execution.
• Act as a field engineer on construction sites.
