Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Power global practice in Kansas City. You will work on world-class renewable power generation designs for utility-scale projects, collaborating with project teams from development through construction.

The role requires civil design expertise, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and proficiency in stormwater modeling and permitting processes. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• FE or EIT preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• 3 years civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D and hydraulic/hydrologic software.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil design of projects from development through design completion.
• Lead mass grading and road corridor design using Civil 3D.
• Develop site plans, grading plans, erosion control and demolition plans.
• Coordinate with AHJs for permitting and field inspections.
• Prepare reports and construction specifications.
• Support SWPPP, drainage studies and road-use reports.
