Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Power global practice. You will design and evaluate mechanical systems for coal and natural gas-fired facilities, lead front-end planning, and manage construction administration.

This role involves interfacing with project managers, vendors, and clients to deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities include leading projects, sizing equipment, hydraulic calculations, P&ID preparation, and lifecycle cost

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree required or related field.
• FE exam completion is expected; PE license preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for gas, coal facilities and related systems.
• Prepare front-end planning, bidding docs, and specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs, suppliers and other disciplines.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and ensure compliance with codes.
