Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and support electrical power generation systems and controls for generator packages. You will work with manufacturing, quality, service, supply chain, and regulatory agencies to ensure products meet performance and safety requirements.

The role requires a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, 3–7 years in relevant electrical engineering, and proficiency with electrical design software.

Qualifications

• BSEE from ABET-accredited university required.
• EIT preferred; PE licensure a plus.
• 3–7 years in electrical engineering for power generation or industrial controls.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, UL 2200 and related standards.
• Experience with three-phase power systems and protection schemes.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power distribution, control, protection, and monitoring for generator packages.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, calculations, and engineering docs.
• Lead design improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Perform conductor sizing, fault current, voltage drop, and protection coordination analyses.
• Investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain Bills of Materials and engineering change orders.
• Specify components and equipment meeting requirements and costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments.
