Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for manufacturing projects, including power distribution, controls, and related equipment.

You will work with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, vendors and customers to ensure compliant, cost-effective designs, perform load calculations, create diagrams and BOMs, and support design reviews and production through testing and implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience; power systems experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar electrical design software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with electrical test and measurement equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with project costs and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements and develop electrical drawings, BOMs, and component selections.
• Create single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication/automation network drawings.
• Develop control house wiring documentation from customer design packages.
• Complete load calculations and power distribution designs.
• Source components and coordinate pricing and lead times with Purchasing and suppliers.
• Partner with Mechanical Engineering to integrate electrical and mechanical designs.
• Support manufacturing through design, build, testing, and production.
• Resolve technical questions with customers and address specification changes.
• Improve design standards, processes, and production efficiency.
• Perform other engineering duties as needed.
